Moringa is Botanically known as Moringa oleifera from the Moringaceae family. Common names are Drumstick Tree, Horseradish Tree, Miracle Tree, Behen Tree, Mother's Best Friend, etc. Moringa is native to northwestern India, and widely cultivated in tropical and subtropical areas. In Africa, it is widely consumed for self-medication by patients affected by diabetes, hypertension, or HIV/AIDS.
Moringa is a fast-growing and slender tree that can reach varying heights depending on growing conditions and pruning practices. Typically, it grows to a height of about 10 to 30 feet (3 to 9 meters) or even taller under optimal conditions. Moringa leaves are highly nutritious and are one of the most nutrient-dense foods known, containing a wide array of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
GROWING TIPS
Moringa thrives in warm and sunny climates. Plant it in an area that receives full sun exposure for most of the day.
You can grow Moringa from seeds or young seedlings. If using seeds, soak them in water for 24 hours before planting to help improve germination rates.
Space Moringa plants at least 6 to 10 feet (1.8 to 3 meters) apart to allow for their rapid growth.
Provide adequate water, especially during the establishment phase. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Once established, Moringa is drought-tolerant.
