Astrophytum asterias Cacs is also known by various other names, such as sand dollar cactus, star cactus, and star peyote. It is a very rare, small cactus species that is non-prickly, round, and grows in a spherical shape. And there are 6 to 10 ribs in this spherical shape. The body of the cactus is greenish-brown in color and has tiny white patches on the ribs with little white soft areolas. This cactus has a height of about 4 cm and a diameter of around 5 cm.
